December Daily 2017 // Part III

I'm back today with a few more pages from my December Daily album.

DECEMBER 4 // Reindeer photo shoot
This spread comprises of a four 3x4" pocket page protector and a 3x8" page protector. I made these reindeer headbands for my niece and nephew a couple of years ago, and asked them to let me take their pictures again :) Couldn't resist printing an old photo for comparison! I wrote my journaling on a card from the Yes set. The woodgrain number stickers are from the 2016 Paislee Press mini kit.

I had the idea to pair a photo strip with this 'making spirits bright' card (from my 3x8 holiday card set) ever since I first designed it. I'm really happy with how it turned out! The photo strip is sized at 1.5x6" and I used some foam adhesive behind it for added dimension.

DECEMBER 5 // Canyon Lights
Went to one of my favorite local places to enjoy nature/trees/the forest and the festive lights! I had so many photos I wanted to include so I ended up with multiple pages. The first one is a full size 6x8 photo, paired with a forest green 3x8 card (from my 3x8 holiday card set). I really love the green tones and color pairing of this photo with this card :) The snowflake I used on my photo is a digital stamp from the Let It Snow stamp brushes in my store.

Here's the next spread: another 6x8 photo with a 8 pocket page protector with 2" slots. This page protector originally has 12 pockets; I just simply cut off the last row.

I added a few embellishments to my 6x8 photo of the treetop cabin. The number 5 is an old one from Crate Paper. I thought the dark cork material coordinated well with the tones of the photograph. I like grouping things in three, so I also added a chipboard circle and a little chipboard star.

It's a lot of fun to fill in those 2" pockets, but my spread was starting looking a little cluttered. To remedy this, I ended up trimming down my 2" photos and backing them with white cardstock to add a white border around the pictures. I think the pop of white really helps make the photos stand out and be not too busy.

I used various embellishments and supplies to fill the pockets. Some things to note: the wonderland square tag is from the Let it Snow elements set. I glued the wood veneer tree on a small piece of transparency so that it looks like it is floating. I found some woodgrain patterned paper in my stash and I like how it matches the photographs and the dark cork number 5.

Here's the other side of this spread:

More little embellishments and photos in the 2" pockets. The 'holiday vibes' tag is from Make Merry elements no.1 and the rubber 'JOY' piece is from the Paislee Press 2016 mini kit.

I wrote my journaling on this black and white 'wonderland' card (from Let it Snow cards no.2). I really like how this clean and simple card looks with the gold foiled handlettered script (from the Paislee Press 2016 mini kit)!

I'll try and share more pages later this week :) Are you documenting this season as well? How is your December Daily coming along?
